Dr. Ricky S. Stern is the Founder and Executive Director of "e", an environmental learning and action center focused upon developing an environmentally literate and responsible citizenry. A doctoral recipient from Harvard's Graduate School of Education, Dr. Stern has successfully combined her interests in human development and evolutionary biology through the formation of this organization.
In 1982, Dr. Stern founded a clinical organization, The Boston Institute for Arts Therapies (BIAT), which she then directed for 12 years. BIAT is now 25 years old and continues to provide site-based surround-care services, by Masters-level clinicians, to over forty agencies a year. BIAT is now part of the Whittier Street Health Center.
Dr. Stern has also been active in her community serving as a Girl Scout leader and a board member of the Franklin Park Coalition, and working for green space preservation, environment science education, and community involvement in natural areas projects.
